Multimodal Transit Hub for Edmond, Ok

Tasked with creating an urban connector between Oklahoma City and the suburb of Edmond, this project serves as an exploration of how spectacle can envirgorate a community. The goal is to not just create a functional train station, but a new district within the city that can serve as a catalyst for investment and civic engagement. 

The design process involved masterplanning the formal creation of a public square, centering a visual approach with the station serving as a backdrop or "weenie" (theme park term for an object that draws you into a space, such as Cinderella Castle), referencing historical typologies of the community/train infrastructure, and harnessing the movement of trains to create dynamic perspectives.
